Manufacturing Engineer / NC Programmer – Level 4
Job Description:
This position is a lead engineering role responsible for providing overall technical guidance and support for process improvement and development of methods for new contracts. They will also be responsible for training and development of new Manufacturing Engineers and CNC Programmers within the engineering department at Asco Aerospace USA.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical support for the manufacturing engineering and production departments.
- Provide machine probing programming support and technical guidance
- Assist with quotations and defining the machining process, including number of operations, work holding methods, features to be machined within each operation, probing needs, etc. to meet customer specifications
- Participating in establishing fixturing/method/cutting tools cutting conditions
- Understands and uses continuous improvement tools. Participating in continuous improvement and cost reduction projects
- Use problem solving techniques to assist in improving quality and productivity
- Assist in developing robust, capable manufacturing processes for the machining of complex aerospace components
- CNC-Programming using CATIA V5
- Post-processing with existing post-processors
- CNC-program validation via Vericut
- Verification of cutting tool data in TDM (Tool Data Management) and Vericut Libraries
- Work with Manufacturing Engineer to develop cutting strategies
- Produce appropriate documents including validation sheets, NC logbooks, work instructions
- Assist in the development of new manufacturing and assembly processes and technologies where appropriate
- Ability to read and interpret blue-prints and an understanding of “Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing” GD&T
- Good English verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a team-based environment
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc)
Profile:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Technical Training, Diploma or Degree in CNC Programming preferred
Skills / Experience:
- 10 years’ experience as a CNC programmer and or manufacturing engineer. Aerospace, 5 axis experience required.
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership is essential. Candidates must exhibit a high level of technical innovation and initiative and will serve as a technical advisor for the organization.
- Good English verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a team-based environment.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Must be currently eligible/authorized to work in the United States.
