As the largest factory with about 750 employees, divided over 9 buildings, Asco Belgium houses important production facilities within the Asco group. The mission of the Belgium plant is to cover the complete value chain from raw material until finished assembly in house in order to minimize throughput times. Located in the logistic center of Europe, our European and international customers can easily be served.
Asco’s extensive machining equipment contains a variety of 3, 4 and 5 axis configured milling machines to manufacture the most complex machined components asked by today and tomorrow’s market. By using over 140 mono spindles, multi spindles as well fully automated FMS systems, Asco is also able to respond to the highest quality requirements asked for machined components. Machined materials cover the whole range of aerospace materials with a special focus on different titanium alloys.
All parts produced at Asco are finished in-house in dedicated state-of-the-art and material related surface and heat treatment facilities, e.g. tempering furnaces, phosphating and anodizing lines, and several painting lines and booths. This equipment is certified according to Nadcap and to specific customers requirements and is supported by our own internationally recognized metallurgical lab.
The final assembly area marries in-house machined components with outside purchased (standard) components. Complex structural assemblies including in jig riveting and assembly of structural components can be performed. Our assembly processes are also certified according to Nadcap as well as specific customers requirements. Lean thinking is part of Asco’s mindset. Organizational principles like stock at line, takt times, heijunka, SMED, Andon and Kanban production management systems are implemented and continuously improved throughout the whole factory.
State-of-the-art equipment requires state-of-the-art staff. Asco has on site training facilities in which yearly hundreds of operators and students are trained for the whole Asco group.
Asco also houses the technological competence center for the whole Asco group. A mixed team of engineers and experienced field operators are able to develop any technical production process used within aircraft industries responding to ever decreasing time to market demands from our customers.
