Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Description:

*This is a safety sensitive position.

This position is responsible to control and manage process and product quality of suppliers.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Control and manage process and product quality of suppliers
   1. perform system, process and product quality audits at suppliers’ locations
   2. compile audit reports and subsequent corrective action reports
   3. follow-up on the actions from audits
   4. perform follow-up audits
2. Assess and evaluate system and process quality of potential new suppliers in supplier selection phase :
   1. perform system and process quality audits at potential new suppliers’ locations
   2. compile audit reports and subsequent evaluation reports
   3. follow-up on the actions from audits
   4. perform follow-up evaluations
3. Manage supplier quality in production phase :
   1. analyze reported quality problems with supplier parts
   2. compile corrective action reports for non-conformities
   3. follow-up implementation of corrective actions
   4. provide and report the quality metrics for supplier follow-up
4. Support and manage the launch of new parts, projects or new suppliers :
   1. establish with suppliers and subcontractors the process of starting-up manufacturing of new parts
   2. perform FAI (First Article Inspections)
   3. monitor and manage quality performance during the start-up phase
5. Continuously improve quality performance of suppliers and subcontractors
   1. identify improvement potential in suppliers’ quality processes
   2. develop continuous quality improvement plans for supplier and subcontractor manufacturing processes
   3. implement and follow-up the continuous improvement program (QIP program) in co-operation with the buyer

Profile:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

Skills / Experience:

• Experience in Special Processes (surface treatment, heat treatment, HVOF), a plus.
• Experience in a manufacturing company is required, preferably aerospace; international experience is preferred.
• Previous experience in a similar quality function is an advantage.
• Thorough technical knowledge and motivation to understand highly technical products and processes.
• Well-developed analytical skills.
• Sensitive to commercial aspects.
• Highly developed interpersonal and English communication skills; capable to interact with senior management at suppliers.
• Good team player.
• Flexible and efficient.
• Stress resistant.
• Result oriented.
• Takes initiative and displays a pro-active attitude.
• Open to travel frequently.
