Warehouse – Shipping/Receiving

Job Description:

*This is a safety sensitive position.

Reporting to the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor, this position performs shipping, receiving and other miscellaneous warehouse functions as required.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Load, unload and pick merchandise as needed.
  • May be required to lift or assist in lifting merchandise weighing over 50 lbs., by hand or motorized equipment.
  • Operate motorized material handling equipment including forklifts and reach trucks.
  • Move material or merchandise to storage, staging area, or distribution area.
  • Examine incoming and outgoing freight/parts for damage and complete damage report.
  • Input shipping, receiving, and other required information into ERP system.
  • Store, stack, pack or palletize items in accordance with established storage and shipping methods, considering such factors as size, weight, quantity, customer and quality specifications and safety.
  • May assist in counting inventory and rearrange inventory as needed.
  • Assemble, prepare, and check merchandise to be loaded onto trucks for shipments to customers.
  • Ensure shipments are properly labeled, and packed.
  • Maintain integrity of the record keeping
  • Organization of the work team
  • Strong initiative to complete tasks and start new project with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet required deadlines.
  • May assist in other areas of the Warehouse as directed.

Profile:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Skills / Experience:

  • Previous experience utilizing a forklift.
  • Previous experience with shipping and receiving.
  • Basic PC/Computer Skills
  • High attention to detail.
  • Must be a reliable and punctual individual
  • Must possess excellent communication skills with different levels of the organization
  • Ability to follow written directions.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to work in a 3 shift operation.
  • Experience with an ERP software system a plus.
  • Pass visual and physical exams if required
  • Must be eligible/authorized to work in the United States, currently and in the future.
